December bunko 2009!!!!!

This month was extra special because we combined a christmas get together with Bunko and we had a whole evening of partying!! It was the best bunko of the year! All 12 of us girls were there, which doesnt seem to happen that often with everyones lives so crazy and busy. We exchanged names about a month ago and had a 10$ limit on the gift. We started off with a fabulous dinner at Texas Rhode House. Never been there??? Their rolls are TO DIE FOR!!! I think I ate 5. The only thing that sucked was that they put our group of 12 split between two tables! Dont they know the whole point is to be together??? But, we still managed to enjoy our selves and a delicious dinner!

Our Hostess Kylie is in the middle with the beautiful dark hair and turquoise shirt. I love Kylie. She has a zest for life that I love!! She loves to sit and talk and is always so fun and enjoyable to be around. She is an amazing hair dresser and my hair loves her too. I admire her so much as I have watched her go through a mothers nightmare. I hope she knows that we are all there for her always. She is the best!!!
I think as a group we all realize how lucky we are to have eachother. There are so many ups and downs in each of our lives and we have realized that our group of friends is special. We can talk about anything and everything. There is no judging, lookin down upon or any of that. We can all be ourselves and know that every other woman in that room loves us just the way we are. I think that is a rare thing in a group of 12 woman.
Andreas birthday was just a few days before bunko so she got to ride the saddle! WOOHOO ya hottie!!!
Here we are getting ready to exchange gifts. There is just way to much beauty in this room!
Stacy won Bunko!!! the funny thing is is that she deserved too. She has been goin through some rough stuff and had just had some great news this day, and to win bunko on top of it, well, we were all so happy for her!! A cute christmas vinyl lettering plaque, a hat to die for and a christmasy center piece. LOVE IT!!
Here is our High Score winner Brinda. Isn't this snowman just the cutest thing? I have a soft spot for snowman, I love them!!
I think corey might have gotten the lowest score ever in the history of our bunko! But of course it was totally worth it to win this cutest ever christmas centerpiece jar!
Andrea won Mr. fatty snowman here whom I totally am in love with. We all love the medium prize!!!
Janalee with hostess with, again, the cutest hat ever and an adorable scarf. And the cutest baby to boot too.
Camie with most 5's, love this lantern decoration!
We had a 3-way tie for most zeros with 14 apiece, but lucky jamie won that roll and got anther darling lantern!
The losers, but not really!!! I was so excited for these christmas vinyl plauqes, I love things like this!!
All in all, a wonderful night with the best friends a girl could ask for. There is no better gift I could ask for then to have these woman as friends!!
Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!!! See you in 2010!!

November Bunco

This is Jamie, posting for Meg. Since Meg wasn't there I took pictures with my camera and therefor am the one doing the post. If Meg would've been there she would have this posted an HOUR after bunco had ended. Instead, you're stuck with slacker Jamie. Enjoy the pics!!

For the month of November, Bunco was at Camie Johnson's home. She has a beautiful home and was such a great host. Her dessert ROCKED and she had these way awesome shirts made for us. How can any of us top that??Camie (who is pictured on the top row, third person over from the left) is a beautiful woman. She is kind to every one and is always happy. If she's having a bad day, you rarely see it. She is a mother (of 5 beautiful children) a wife, a sister, a friend, and a person with a contagious smile. She is always so much fun to be around. She also is a fantastic chef. Like this dessert for instance...

It was da bomb!!

Meg Missed...

So, for the 2nd time in 3 years, I had to miss bunko!! November Bunko was at Camies house, and I was so super excited to get to see her new home and for her fabulous prizes we were all so excited to see( and of course the food, camie always makes something incredibly yummy!) But, me and Kaleb were invited to a Jazz game with some friends of ours, and I just couldn't pass it up..( well, i almost did but then kaleb looked like he was about to cry :0) so I hurry and said yes!) No, not really. Of course I love the Jazz!! It is almost a tie between Bunko and the Jazz( with bunko coming just a little bit ahead...) But, to be able to go with my honey and hang out I just couldn't pass it up!! So instead of being here...

I got to be here....

watching this guy...

Yeah, it was awesome! But I did miss my bunko girls!! The funny thing is both times I've missed have been at camies house. Sorry camie-its not on purpose I swear!!
Camie is such a fun person to hang around, she is an amazing mom with five kids!! But you would never know it looking at her. She is happy and positive, and I am so glad that she came to be a part of our Bunko group. She also made all of us the most amazing shirts, I can't wait to wear mine!!

PS. Jamie took the pix. of Bunko for November, so check back, they will be posted soon!!

October Bunko

We had a FABULOUS bunko this month, as always, but the best thing was that our whole original group was together tonight, no subs or anything!! That hasn't happened for a while!! Me and Jamie both agree that October is one of the funnest and easiest months to do bunko because the prizes are so easy to find!!!
Here is our gorgeous hostess Jamie!! I decided that I will do a little post every month on our hostesses!
I love Jamie!! Of course you all know that she is my sister in law but she is also my best friend! She is the funnest person to be around, there is always lots of loud laughter when I am around Jamie. She will tell you that her house is never clean, but I don't believe it, it puts my house to shame all the time!! She is so incredibly talented in so many ways and is one of the most giving people I know. She is always thinking of ways that she can help others. Some of the best times of my life have been with Jamie. She really is the best!!

Aren't we bunko chicks just so freakin hot???
We always have to start by eating and talking...then we can play!
The yummy food!! Frosten pumpkin cake bars and my personal weakness, SUGAR COOKIES!! And there always has to be some caffeine to help us stay awake and hyper.
Brindas husband is making these at his chocolate business! They are going to be a huge hit! The brand is CREV and he made I crev Edward and Jacob chocolate bars. Aren't they awesome?? You can get them at all associated food stores like maceys and harmons. Snatch some up before they are all gone. Definitely going to be a best seller!
BUNKO WINNER: Andrea! We all agreed that this prize looked just like something she would put in her house! Isn't jamie talented? I could never put that together!
HIGH SCORE: our lovely new mom brinda. Yes, she just had her 3rd baby and looks like a teenager!! A great fall decoration!!
LOW SCORE: brianne, who is brindas twin! how did they both end up with prizes???:0) This is the cutest haunted house, i might have to go get one for myself.
MEDIUM PRIZE:Valarie! its a yard stake, i love the cats green eyes!! and then the cute, little trick or treat block.
HOSTESS SQUARE: ME!!!!! Jamie really won it, but claimed she had way too many wreaths and didn't need another one, so she picked another square and I GOT IT!! HAHAHA!!! I was more than a little excited, so excuse the hair..... :0)
Most 5's:COREY! yeah, she had like 25, i think that might be our record!! this witches hat is so sparkly, you can see what i mean by the prizes being so easy and fun to buy!!
Most 0's: CAMIE! who is coreys older sister! what is with the sisters winning tonight??? I love these stackables, and if you can't see they see trick or treat from top to bottom.
LOSER PRIZES: jamie, janalee, stacey, robyn and kylie! ok, they are not really losers but that is what we like to call this prize!:0) buti think these little pumpkins with the witches hats are the cutest thing ever. In fact, i might go buy a bunch to put in a row on my mantel.
BONUS PRIZE: Valarie also won this, i think bringing her cute little baby boy to bunko was definitely a good luck charm for her!!
Well, I am sad, another bunko come and gone and now we have to wait for the next one. What an awesome group of girls i get to play with, i know that all of you out there are jealous!!LOL!! but if any of you want to be a sub, leave a comment and we will call you the next time we need one. EVERYONE should get to experience the joy of bunko. And hey, why don't you start your own group?? I promise you won't be sorry you did!!
Til next time....

For Jamie: :0) How to spell BUNK(C)O???

So we have an ongoing discussion on how to spell BUNK(C)O! Is it with a "C" or a "K"??? I always spell it with a K, because I have a soft spot for K!!!! My hubby is Kaleb with a K, not a c, which is different. So, I went to my usual place to find out things: I googled it! And you know what, it is spelled both ways!!! You can find it with either a C or a K and it means the same thing. So, for the purpose of this sight, I am going to stick with my K (because I would have to change a heck of a lot of things if I didnt! :0) But I leave it up to all of you to decide how you want to spell BUNKO!!

September 2009 Bunko

September marks the end of our 3rd year of bunko and the start of our 4th year! Me and my sister-in-law Jamie decided to start a bunko group all those years ago, but we were going to do it OUR way! We start at 845 at night, that way the kiddies are all in bed so the hubbies have less reason to complain! :0) We don't do dinner, that is just too much stress for us! So we decided to do a dessert, so simple, easy and delicious!!! This isn't our original bunko group, we have had coming and goings, but I think this is my FAVORITE bunko group ( minus my sister april!) And I think this is the group that is going to stay. What a GREAT group of woman, I could not ask for better friends, for we have all become great friends through bunko! They are the best girls you will ever meet.
September bunko was at my house, for dessert I decided to do a lemon poppyseed bundt cake, soooo yummy!! One requirement we have is to always have caffeine available, sometimes it gets a little hard staying up til midnight(which is about when bunko gets over with) without a few doses of caffeine!
We like to sit around and talk and eat for at least a half hour before we start playing!!

Our two subs this month: Laura and kelsey, both the best!!

Our group for september! TOP: camie, me, corey, andrea, laura, kelsey and kylie. BOTTOM: Brinda, janalee, robyn and jamie!
Here we are getting ready to play!!
I always like to do a theme with my prizes and this month I decided to go with cooking. Finding the prizes is always half the fun, and seeing who wins them is the other half! I loved all of them!

Here is our Bunko winner Kelsey! Her prize ( i thought) was FABULOUS!! She won a serving platter, a serving bowl, another serving bowl made out of fabric ( by my awesome mom) and a matching apron( also made by my very talented mother.) We always love when kelsey comes and subs for us!
Kylie was a little overcome with emotion at winning the High Score prize! :0) a set of three mixing bowls and a freakin cute pink and black apron!
This is our sub who wanted to remain anonomous: but she won the low prize, a cute set of three mixing bowls and some other fun cooking gadgets.
Cute, prego Janalee won the medium prize: a rod iron cook book holder, my ward cookbook, towels, washcloths and oven mitts!
Laura, whose this was the first time she subbed for us,won the hostess prize which was my favorite! A cookbook called the seduction cookbook(cant wait to hear all about it) and a $5 gift certificate to victoria secret!!
Camie won most 5's: a tile with my favorite saying about chocolate and a sayings book on chocolate.
Corey won the most 0's: a rod iron cookbook holder and my ward cook book!
Robyn got the bonus prize: a 9 piece decorating cake kit! I expect to see some decorating robyn!
Here are my $5 prizes: sucker molds and melting chocolate! A fun something to do with your kids!
I think we all hate to see bunko coming to an end every month, knowing it will be a month before we play again! that is why i called this blog, bunkogirlsforlife, because I KNOW we will all be bunko lifers, playing until we die!!
Thanks for a great night of bunko, see you in october!!
